I should make this a weekend journal because that is the only time that I have news to write here. The only news this week is that I spent 2 ½ hours waiting for a barber to show up before I finally went to another one. No waiting line there. Not that there was a problem with the line at the first guy. I was first in line. He just didn’t show up for work at 9 am as advertised. He showed up at 11:30. I was sitting in the chair of my new barber when he called. The entire weekend schedule was busted.
The most recent quandary that was raised last week is : trip to Israel in 2009?
Pro: The congregation is visiting places that I have not seen.
Pro: The novel that I wrote is set is Israel. It would be so much better if I were describing places that I’ve seen recently. (I’ve been to Israel once.)
Pro: Israel would really improve my self-esteem. I am sick of the blonde-fantasies for America. Every movie has to have a blonde lead. I want to go someplace where darker people are the default. Not the exception. Not that they are the exception in America. They are just the psychic exception. America sees itself publicly as a white nation: even as it becomes less and less so.
Con: The cost
Con: I really want to replace carpet with hard wood floors. It would be so much better for my sinus trouble.
Don’t imagine that I don’t notice that the pro’s are all mental and the con’s are all hard-nosed physicals.
Oh, and I found another artist that I like on youtube: Ayala Ingadeshet
