Jan. 5th, 2008 03:58 pmI am remembering just a few years ago when a friend and I worried that 2008 would be a fight between Hillary Clinton and Condi Rice. He didn’t agree with her politics but he admired seeing such a strong Black woman in the position that she was in. He was certain that Condi would win.
What a different two years makes! Hillary Clinton disappointed me by saying that she wouldn’t even talk to Cuba. She sounded like the typical “ugly American” or rather the egotistical colonizer that wonders why no one loves them. Condi Rice is too wedded to her boss’s policies. make herself perhaps. I don’t expect her to become liberal. But she needs to recognize putrefying destructive policies when she sees them. One hopes. But then, every Greek hero had an admirable trait that eventually destroyed him. Perhaps loyalty is Condi’s destructive trait.
No, I haven’t said whom I would support. The “real” diary gets that. Especially since I change my mind often.
