8/25/24 1:38:00 PM The weather report on my phone promised rain at 10:45 so I went out to cut more Virginia creeper of the fence.  30 minutes later I was soaked in sweat and there was still no rain.  In fact, now no rain is currently forecast.  I did get a bag full of vines in a trash bag, however.  There is still lots of virginia creeper on the fence.  And of course, there are branches from the two trees that are growing between the fences. How did I end up with two fences?  I could check back in my diary to see if I mentioned this, but I can mention it again.  After Hurricane Ida, the fence was in pieces.  Let me see if I can import a picture. The roof was damaged, and I got that fixed first.  I was seeking someone to fix the fence when my neighbor on the right got someone to rebuild the fence on her line.  Which left the damaged fence on my property line.  When I did find someone to fix the fence, he rebuilt the entire fence line on all three sides.  So, I have one fence in the back (pictured above), but two fences on one side --the side of the hasty neighbor. There is her fence and my rebuilt fence and unfortunately, two trees that have grown up in-between.  The guy who cuts the grass has been quick to ask for jobs to paint.  He has never suggested that he cut the vines off the fence. It is hot work.  And since most of the roots are on the other side, it is like housework.  It will never be finished.  Even after all of that work, I feel like a tub of lard, so I will make my way back to the Algiers fitness center today.  It has to be “early”, because they close at 8 pm today. Today’s lunch was the last of the stewed chicken over rice. I do have food to work off.  I need to drink some water!!
